Study Table Update
- We are automatically dropping students from Study Table who do not receive any Ds or Fs. We would like to move toward grade level teachers owning the Study Table list so it really reflects the best thinking throughout the semester of the teachers. The goal is to continually whittle down the number of students who are failing. This is working now; for instance 35 students were failing 4 core classes last year. This year, only 17 students were failing 4 core classes. How low can it go?
- current cost of Study Table per day is $70

Chris: OPINION NOT FROM THE MATH DEPARTMENT: Study Table must be used by all of the teachers on a consistent basis or we run the risk of losing it.
Nearly all teachers, for years, have stated "if we could just hold the kids after school, we could get them to do their homework." We have that opportunity; please take the time to use it.
Yes, I know it takes more time and it takes more organization on the teachers part...but isn't that what we are trying to teach the children to be...better organized? Lead by example, they will follow. Use it or lose it. (And no complaining when it is gone, if you didn't use it.)
As an added thought... can you justify the D or F the student earned? If it is because of missing work and they were not sent to Study Table (if it they weren't on the list, you can get them added at anytime with a parent call)...I ask why weren't they sent?
