Progress Reports. Reconsider?
Several years ago, the Skyview staff agreed to do progress reports every three weeks. Since the district has gone to semesters, there is a "district" progress report schedule/DF report schedule that reports to parents less often. We discussed this last year and agreed to stay with the existing Skyview Progress Report plan. I have included our Progress Report Plan for the 05-06 School Year and the district plan. Look them over and reply is you would like to have this issue considered by Department Heads this year.

The very best thing we can do is to train parents and kids to use their planner (daily) and tri-weekly progress reports to follow progress and make changes, restrictions, privilages, etc accordingly.
....check the planner every day, progress reports every 3 weeks....then the ball's in their court. If the kid doesn't do assignments, isn't prepared for tests, the kid and parent must own it. The parent who is shocked or angry by a final grade has got to look in the mirror for the culprit. Blaming "the school" just doesn't wash.
d/f reports are redundant and provide no input to 60% or more of our parents. A progress report IS a d/f report....and an a/b/c report too.
